Enrollment in Elementary and Junior High Schools

Elementary School

To enroll a child in a municipal elementary school, he/she must undergo a health examination.The city will notify you of the health examination schedule in October. An admission notice will be issued at the end of January.

Junior High School

At the end of January, Kawaguchi City will forward a junior high school admission notice to students living in the city who are graduating from elementary school.

To Transfer Enrollment to a Municipal Elementary and/or Junior High School

For Those Transferring from a School Outside of Kawaguchi City

You must present the child's alien registration card, school enrollment certificate and textbook provision certificate (issued at the former school).

For Those Not Transferring from a School Outside of Kawaguchi City

You must present the child's alien registration card.

Note:

If you enter a new school due to a change of address, you must first submit a change of address form for your alien registration card.

 

The Japanese educational system consists of six years of elementary school, three years of junior high school, three years of high school and four years of university (or two years of junior college).
