  2. Where did it happen (location)?
  3. When did it happen (time)?
  4. Your name, address and telephone number

Dialing 110 from Cellphone

  • Confirm address, location and landmarks before calling.
  • Do not leave the site.
  • Do not turn off the power of your cellphone even after finishing the call.

How to Call the Police from a Public Telephone

When calling from a public telephone, simply press the emergency button and dial 110. For public phones without an emergency button, use a coin (¥10 or ¥100). After your call is completed, the coin will be returned to you.

If You Are in a Traffic Accident

Be sure to ask the other party for their name, address, driver's license number, and license plate number. Furthermore, even if your injuries appear to be slight, you should go to the hospital to be examined. Especially if you injure your neck or head, you may suffer from effects later.

To convert your international driver's license into a Japanese driver's license, you must process the appropriate application at the following location:
Saitama Prefecture Driver's License Center
Location: 405-4, Konosu, Konosu City
Tel: 048-543-2001

Police Boxes

Policemen are stationed in police boxes in every neighborhood. They patrol the neighborhood, handle lost and found items, and offer directions to those who are lost.
