	Registration of Name Seal

"I would like to register my name seal." Inkan toroku o onegaishimasu.

Who May Register

Any person 15 years of age and over registered as a foreign resident in Kawaguchi City.

Registration Method

As a rule, application must be made in person. You must bring the name seal to be registered and your alien registration card or a driver's license obtained in Japan.
The handling fee for a copy of a name seal registration certificate (card-type certificate) is \200 per copy.

Acceptable Name Seals

1. A seal showing only the name or nickname as written on the applicant's alien registration card. The name may be in full or in part. For those with foreign names, the seal must show the name or pronunciation in katakana characters correctly.
2. A seal 8 mm square to 25 mm square.
3. A seal with an outer rim, and made of material such as wood, which is not easily altered.

Certificate of Registered Name Seal

This certificate documents the registration of your name seal. You must bring your name seal registration certificate (card-type certificate) when you apply for the official certificate of registered name seal (paper-type certificate). If a representative applies for this certificate, besides your name seal registration certificate, information such as your name, address, and birthdate are required. No power of attorney is necessary.
The personal identification of the applicant will be checked when a certificate of registered name seal (paper-type certificate) is applied for. The handling fee is \200 per copy.

To apply for name seal registration:
Application is accepted at the Civil Affairs Division only.

To apply for a certificate of name seal registration:
Applications are accepted at the Civil Affairs Division, all branch offices, the Administrative Service Center in front of Kawaguchi Station, the Annex Office at Nishi-Kawaguchi station, and the Shiba Annex Office in front of Warabi Station.
